5 reasons why fall is a great time to plan that mommy makeover!
For busy moms, summer has been a whirlwind of camps, trips, sleepovers, barbecues and the mad rush of trying to get the kids ready for back-to-school. Many moms find that with the children back in classes, they now have some breathing room to squeeze in some “me” time to devote to themselves. Summer is wonderful, but it can also highlight areas of your body that you may feel could use a cosmetic improvement. Here is a list of several reasons why autumn is a good time to undergo that breast enhancement, tummy tuck, or other body contouring procedure that you have been contemplating while looking in the mirror:
1.) With the cooler weather heading our way, it will be easier to cover up parts of the body that are healing after surgery with clothes that are roomier and that layer.
2.) Chances are that after summer your body will be in the best shape possible for the next 9 months – in the view of most plastic surgeons, this is the best time to undergo body contouring surgery. Results are optimized when you are healthier and fitter, and for most of us this is at the end of an activity-filled summer.
3.) Scars and bruises do not like the sun – this is why most plastic surgeons caution against having aesthetic surgery on sun-exposed areas during the summer months. It is quite difficult to cover up bruises and scars during summer. During the cooler months of fall, surgical sites will be easily covered up such that bruises will be gone and scars will be more mature and more tolerant of the sun by next summer, or even in time for a winter trip.
4.) Spare time is precious and scarce during summer and during the holiday seasons – this is why most moms have a bit more time to plan and execute a cosmetic procedure during the fall.
5.) Finally, while your friends and acquaintances will be making resolutions to begin to lose weight and to one day hit the gym, you will be one step ahead of the game and will be ready to unveil the new you in time for the holiday season and the New Year!
